The MacLean Scholar awards were created to enable two neuroscience trainees to attend the SBSM Annual Meeting and interact with the recipient of the Paul D. MacLean Award for Outstanding Neuroscience Research in Psychosomatic Medicine.
The Award:
- MacLean Scholar winners will receive travel reimbursement in the amount of $500 to attend the meeting
Criteria:
- You must submit an abstract to be considered for this award
- Applicant must be first author on an abstract accepted for presentation at the SBSM Annual Meeting
- Applicants must be a member of SBSM, or in the process of applying for membership (for a membership application, please visit the membership section on the SBSM website)
- Applicant must be undergraduate or graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, medical students or resident physicians
- Selection will be based primarily on outstanding research or research potential and research that address questions that will advance the legacy of Paul MacLean and should link direct measures of brain function either to medical outcomes or mediating variables that can be directly linked to such outcomes
