The Emerging Leaders (EL) SIG is a vibrant community of trainees across biopsychosocial science and medicine. Our membership includes more than 50 SBSM Associate Members—from undergraduate students to postdoctoral scholars and residents—committed to shaping the future of integrated research and clinical practice.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to:

  1. Supporting trainees as they grow into impactful scholars and leaders in biopsychosocial science and medicine
  2. Advancing SBSM’s research, clinical, and membership goals

What We Do

EL offers meaningful opportunities for leadership, service, and professional development that enhance the career trajectories of SBSM trainees. Members contribute directly to Society initiatives and help drive innovation and community building within SBSM.

The Emerging Leaders SIG is a key voice for trainees within SBSM—expanding access to resources, fostering community, and empowering the next generation of leaders in biopsychosocial science and medicine.
